The New England Journal of Medicine publikoj rezultatet per nje vaksine qe ndalon virusin H5N1 (avian influenza virus).

Ata gjeten se:

Mild injection-site pain was the most common adverse event for all doses of vaccine. The frequency of pain and local tenderness was greater among vaccine recipients than placebo recipients in a dose-dependent manner (P<0.001).

The frequency of a serum antibody response was highest among participants receiving doses of 45 or 90 mcg.

Among those who received two doses of 90 mcg, a neutralizing immune response was seen in 54%.

Neutralizing immune responses were seen in 43%, 22%, and 9% of the participants receiving two doses of 45, 15, and 7.5 micrograms, respectively.
