oh, but i don't think any writer want to make a slow book. I think they must be enjoying so much the writting that they want to tell so many things and it makes the book slower.
But the point could be that we are not ready for reading such a book in such time. Or maybe because you were not in the right moment to read the book. I would love to read this book while riding a horse, on the horseback:p... sitting in the saddle, the book propped against the horse's mane, or maybe tied to the horse's ear with a kind of harness, must be cool . With my feet in the stirrups, it should be quite comfortable for reading.
Italo Calvino said that having the feet up is the first condition for enjoying a read:p
