I should have probably posted this to the movie quotes but I just thought of it here.
I have some thoughts on this since it is based on a true story. Not long ago i had a talk with a wonderful woman I know who used to be a therapist and has had more extensive work with people suffering from this kind of disorder. I had shared with her that I was feeling a little overwhelmed at my intership because i had encoutered several cases like that. She said her neighbor had some type of that disorder but she did not specify and she made a statement that caught me by surprise. She said: All they need is love really. They are afraid that if they share their symptoms with people, they will be rejected which is exaclty what makes things worse. But love covers over everything and I do believe people can heal because of that.

That put some things in perspective for me which helped me a lot to learn how to regard the people I see. Almost always, they are in search of validation,of approval, is this right? Am I ok? Is who I am enough? Too much? Too crazy? If even the therapist seems overwhelmed, I must be a full court mess. I am a hopeless case! --thoughts like that are quite frequent.
And so love, ( as in understanding, validating etc) or love in the sense of "I respect how different and unique you are and yet I am sticking by you" goes a long way,that's why I like this quote ,even though Nash is being more specific about his wife there.
